The Festival is Hope’s 175th Anniversary celebrations – hosting an annual gathering of 11 or 12 choirs from the Church Foundation.
WSO performs with the massed voices of the Cathedrals Group Universities’ Choirs Festival in a selection of music of differing styles across the past century, all linked by the British choral tradition;
Parry’s magnificent Coronation Anthem I Was Glad, John Rutter’s Psalmfest, and They That Go Down to the Sea in Ships, an anthem written by Noel Rawsthorne, former organist of Liverpool Cathedral, and arranged for orchestra by local composer Richard Miller.
