We welcome Ensemble Vocal Renaissance choir from Le Havre for what will be our fifth collaborative programme of great choral music. And what could be greater, in scale and impact, than Verdi’s massive Requiem? Drums thunder and trumpets declare the Day of Judgement, the choir sings its praises to the Lord God of Hosts, and against this is the light and peace of the Lux Aeterna and Agnus Dei. EVR choir is joined by St Peter’s Singers from Heswall, and two soloists each from the UK and France.
The Orchestra and singers make the return journey at the end of May, where the performance will be repeated in Normandy.
